We've Been Doing This Since Before It Was an Industry

IgnitionLabs didn't start as a startup. It started as a conviction: businesses deserve technology partners who stick around.

The Short Version

John Kirker has been in the internet business since 1994, dial-up era, hosting included. IgnitionLabs was formed in 2000. Some of the clients hosting with IgnitionLabs today were clients of John's original agency before he sold it in 2001. They left, tried other options, and came back. That's not a marketing claim. That's what happens when the relationship is the product.

Current clients include dozens of websites for one of the top three school districts in the United States, publicly traded companies, and nine-figure private companies. None of them are here because of a price comparison. They're here because when something goes wrong at 2 AM, it's usually fixed before anyone notices.

Why We Keep Site Counts Low

Most hosting companies optimize for density. More sites per server, more accounts per technician, more revenue per dollar of infrastructure. We do the opposite.

We host hundreds of websites. Not thousands. Not millions. That's not a growth problem; it's the entire point. We will never be a mass hosting company, because becoming one would mean breaking every promise on this page.

Our mission is straightforward: provide a great service at a fair and affordable price, one that lets us properly take care of every client while they focus on building their businesses. That only works if we stay disciplined about how many clients we take on.

Our Ignite plan covers one production site with dev and staging environments. Liftoff and Throttle Up support up to three. That's not a technical limitation. It's a business decision. When your site needs attention, it gets the full weight of our team. Not a queue position.

We don't resell, and we don't serve resellers. If you're looking to stack 50 client sites on cheap infrastructure and call it "managed hosting," we're not your company. If you're looking for a team that will know your sites as well as you do, you found us.

The Company Behind IgnitionLabs

When you host with IgnitionLabs, the relationship is with John Kirker directly. Not a support tier. Not a ticket queue. A person who has been building on the internet for more than 30 years and has personally managed infrastructure through every failure mode worth knowing about.

John's background spans enterprise deployments for Fortune 500 companies, three decades of infrastructure management, and strategic advisory for businesses navigating technology decisions at inflection points. That experience shapes how IgnitionLabs operates: with the discipline of an enterprise operation and the accountability of a firm where the founder's name is on every client relationship.

When clients need more than hosting (architecture decisions, platform selection, technology strategy), that expertise is already inside the relationship. No vendor switching. No starting over with someone who has to learn your business from scratch.

What We Believe

"Managed" means someone manages it.

Not a dashboard. Not a knowledge base. A human being who knows your name, your stack, and your business priorities. If "managed" just means automated tooling with a support chat, that's not managed. That's self-service with marketing.

Scale is a choice, not a goal.

We host hundreds of websites. We could host thousands if we lowered our standards. We choose not to. Growth that comes at the expense of service quality isn't growth. It's dilution.

Transparency beats polish.

We tell you what we can do, what we can't, and what it costs. No bait-and-switch pricing. No hiding behind "contact sales." If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you before you sign up.

Infrastructure is a relationship, not a commodity.

Your hosting provider should understand your business well enough to anticipate problems, not just react to tickets. That requires time, consistency, and intention. It requires relationships.

Support means a phone number, not a ticket system.

We don't have a chatbot. We don't have a trouble ticket portal. We have a phone number. You have a problem, you call, we answer, we solve it. That's the entire support model. A significant number of our clients came to us after being hacked somewhere else and discovering their previous host considered it their problem, not theirs.

Independence protects clients.

No PE firm, no board, no investor pressure to raise prices or cut corners. Every decision at IgnitionLabs is made by people who answer directly to clients, not shareholders.

The Team

IgnitionLabs is deliberately lean. A small team of senior engineers who've seen every hosting crisis, migration disaster, and scaling challenge the industry can throw at them.
